Before we start demolition projects
Prior to the commencement of any demolition project, we will prepare a site-specific method statement which will address any risk elements and provide a method of work.
Our estimators will identify the materials that can be reclaimed, recycled, re-used or disposed of off-site. We will calculate approximate tonnages or volumes of these waste materials and have definite costs for removal these materials.
Recycling site waste
Once a building has been dismantled or demolished we target to recycle as much of the waste materials as possible. We use methods such as using them to backfill areas or selling aggregate to be re-used elsewhere.
Of course, our aim is to achieve 100% site recycled or resold, however each site clearance is different. We are currently running at 89% demolition recycled materials for projects in 2016/2017.
How much does demolition cost?
Each project is unique and therefore will require a site survey and estimate to calculate the right costs of demolition. We typically take into account the size, access and position of the structure. Other aspects we consider are waste material content (asbestos or precious metals) and the building framework (steel frame or concrete frame). Finally the best method of demolition needed to be employed, which in some cases may involve explosive demolition.

Demolition site clearance
HDR understands that land owners, equity investors, developers or private owners are under pressure financially to process projects quickly and efficiently. Getting out of the ground can sometimes means full or part demolition and site clearance, in fact we have noticed a huge increase in the redevelopment of sites and some cases total demolition of buildings and industrial sites.
Whether you are looking for full site clearance or help with site redevelopment, HDR can help. We have over 20 years’ experience and the right resources to carry this out quickly, efficiently and as cost effective as possible.
